Gain Seen in Pending Home Sales

The National Association of Realtors announced on April 1st that pending home sales had increased per the pending home sales index

The Pending Home Sales Index,1 a forward-looking indicator based on contracts signed in February, rose 2.1 percent to 82.1 from a reading of 80.4 in January, but is 1.4 percent below February 2008 when it was 83.3.

That's all well and good, but as any good REALTOR® knows - Real Estate is a local business.  So how does this information affect Flagler County?

In January of this year, only 2 homes went pending; in February, 42;  March also had 42, and April had 27 through the 27th of the month.  This gives a good indicator that homes are selling - We have a great deal of investment buyers preparing for a future home and first home buyers making use of that great tax incentive of $8,000. 

With average home prices of $155,000, maybe it's time to take a look at Flagler County for your next home or condo purchase.  Take a look at the listings on my site to see what's available.
